This policy describes how the Play Cadence app (“the App”) handles information, on Android (Google Play) and on iPhone (App Store). Where the two differ, the section says which one it means.
Microphone audio is processed on your device to estimate treadmill cadence (steps per minute) and is never uploaded to our servers. The App shows ads via Google AdMob, which may collect device and advertising identifiers and the IP address (used to estimate approximate location) under Google’s policies; on iPhone the advertising identifier is used only if you allow tracking. If the App crashes, a crash report is sent to Google Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix the bug; it does not include your account, name, email, or audio. Signing in is optional and only posts official-track scores to a world board: Google Sign-In on Android, Sign in with Apple on iPhone.
Microphone audio is used only to detect footfall and cadence while a run is in progress, and it does not leave the device. Run history and bests, settings (target tempo, music choices, audio sync offset, sensitivity, and your height if you enter it for distance estimates), downloaded loop packs, and the signed-in account’s name stay on the device. Deleting the App removes this data; on Android you can also clear the App’s storage in Settings. Device backups (Android Backup, iCloud, or a computer) may include run history and settings. Sign-in is not backed up; you sign in again on a new phone.
Sign-in is optional; the App works without it. After you sign in and finish an official track, the App sends a short-lived identity token (Google ID token on Android, Apple identity token on iPhone), your play score, board id, display name, and account id so this-phone bests and the world board can be shown. The token can include your email address, or an Apple relay address if you hid your email. We use it only to verify that the score belongs to that account. The world board stores the account id, display name, and score — not the token. Apple shares your name only the first time you sign in; if there is no name the board shows “Runner”. Microphone audio is never included.
We keep a posted score until you delete your account. While signed in, open Settings → World ranking → Delete account in the App: our host removes your account id, display name, and every world-board score at once. On iPhone it also asks Apple to revoke the App’s Sign in with Apple authorization. If your Android version does not have that button yet, or if you prefer, email contact@jacobs-factory.com from any address and include your display name; we delete the account id, display name, and every score within 30 days. Scores kept on the device stay until you delete the App. You can also sign out in the App at any time. On iPhone you can stop using Sign in with Apple for the App in Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple.
Remove ads, the music pack, and tips are in-app purchases processed by Google Play Billing on Android and by the App Store on iPhone. The App stores what you own on the device; the store ties purchases to your Google or Apple account. When you download a purchased music pack, the App sends proof of that purchase (a Google Play purchase token, or an App Store signed transaction) to our download server, which asks Google or Apple to confirm it before the download starts. That proof is not stored and does not include your name or email.
The App fetches a public music catalog (mix URLs and tempos) and a list of loop packs from our hosts. Those requests do not include your account. Opening a mix uses YouTube’s player, which Google operates under Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
The App uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Ads appear on menu and setup screens, never during a run, and disappear after you buy Remove ads. The Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares with Google the device’s IP address (which may be used to estimate approximate location), ad and app interactions such as taps and app launches, and app performance diagnostics, for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. Where the law requires it, such as in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, Google’s consent form asks first on both platforms; change your choice later in the App’s Settings → Privacy settings. Android: no ad is requested until the form is answered, and the SDK also uses the device’s advertising ID, which you can reset or delete in Android Settings. iPhone: after the consent form, the App asks for App Tracking Transparency permission. Only if you allow tracking may Google use the advertising identifier to show more relevant ads and measure them; if you decline, ads are less personalized. Change tracking later in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Google processes this data as described in Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and AdMob documentation (https://support.google.com/admob/). We do not sell your personal information.
The App uses Google Firebase Crashlytics. When the App crashes, the next launch sends a crash report so we can find and fix the bug. Sent: the stack trace and app state at the moment of the crash, device model, OS version, app version, free disk and memory, orientation, and a random Crashlytics installation id used to count how many installs a crash affects. Firebase also records app-session timing (for example when the App went to the background) to group crashes by session. Not sent: your account, name, email, run history, score, or microphone audio; we do not attach a user id to crash reports. We use crash reports only to fix crashes and measure app stability, not for advertising or tracking. Firebase keeps crash stack traces and the related installation ids for 90 days. Google processes this information as our service provider under the Firebase privacy and security terms (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy).
The controller for the processing described here is Jacobs Factory (contact@jacobs-factory.com). Legal basis: personalized ads and the related use of device storage and identifiers rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in the App’s Settings → Privacy settings. Signing in and posting scores to the world board are features you choose to use, so that processing is necessary to provide them. Non-personalized ads and crash reports rely on our legitimate interest in funding the App and keeping it working, and you can object to them. Purchases are processed by Google Play or the App Store under their own terms. Google acts as our service provider for Firebase Crashlytics and as an independent controller for ads and Google Sign-In; Apple is an independent controller for Sign in with Apple. Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where Google, Apple, and our hosting providers operate, under safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Retention: world-board entries are kept until you delete your account; crash reports are kept for 90 days; purchase proof is not stored; ad data is kept as described in Google’s policies. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent without affecting earlier processing. Delete account (above) removes your world-board data at once; for other requests, email contact@jacobs-factory.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Microphone is required on both platforms to measure cadence from treadmill noise. Android: display over other apps is optional and used only if you enable the floating overlay, which draws a small cadence bar above other apps without reading their content; notifications are used for the foreground-service notification while measuring. iPhone: tracking is optional and only affects ad personalization. Play stays inside the App; there is no overlay, Live Activity, or Dynamic Island cadence bar. Neither app asks for location, contacts, photos, or health data.
The App is not directed at children under 13, or under 14 in Korea. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If this policy changes, the date at the top is updated. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy. Questions: contact@jacobs-factory.com.

로그인은 선택이며, 로그인하지 않아도 앱을 쓸 수 있습니다. 로그인 뒤 공식 트랙을 끝내면 단기 신원 토큰(Android는 Google ID 토큰, iPhone은 Apple 신원 토큰), 플레이 점수, 보드 id, 표시 이름, 계정 id가 이 폰 최고점과 월드 보드 표시를 위해 서버로 갑니다. 토큰에는 이메일, 또는 이메일을 숨겼다면 Apple 중계 주소가 포함될 수 있습니다. 점수가 그 계정 것인지 확인하는 데만 쓰고, 월드 보드에는 계정 id·표시 이름·점수를 저장하며 토큰은 보관하지 않습니다. Apple은 이름을 첫 로그인에만 주며, 이름이 없으면 보드에는 Runner가 보입니다. 마이크 오디오는 포함되지 않습니다.
올린 점수는 계정을 삭제할 때까지 유지됩니다. 로그인한 상태로 앱의 설정 → 월드 랭킹 → 계정 삭제를 누르면, 서버가 계정 id·표시 이름·모든 월드 보드 점수를 한 번에 지웁니다. iPhone에서는 Apple에 본 앱의 Apple 로그인 권한 취소도 요청합니다. Android 앱이 아직 이 버튼이 없는 버전이거나 메일이 편하면 표시 이름을 적어 contact@jacobs-factory.com으로 요청하세요. 30일 안에 계정 id·표시 이름·모든 점수를 삭제합니다. 기기에 저장된 기록은 앱을 삭제할 때까지 남습니다. 앱에서 언제든 로그아웃할 수 있고, iPhone에서는 설정 → 내 이름 → Apple로 로그인에서 본 앱의 Apple 로그인 사용을 중단할 수 있습니다.
광고 제거, 음악 팩, 팁은 앱 내 구매이며 Android는 Google Play 결제, iPhone은 App Store가 처리합니다. 앱은 무엇을 구매했는지 기기에 저장하고, 구매는 Google 또는 Apple 계정에 묶입니다. 구매한 음악 팩을 내려받을 때 앱은 구매 증빙(Google Play 구매 토큰 또는 App Store 서명 거래 정보)을 저희 다운로드 서버로 보내고, 서버는 다운로드 전에 Google 또는 Apple에 구매를 확인합니다. 이 증빙은 보관하지 않으며 이름·이메일은 포함되지 않습니다.
본 앱은 공개 음악 카탈로그(믹스 URL과 템포)와 루프 팩 목록을 저희 호스트에서 받습니다. 이 요청에는 계정이 포함되지 않습니다. 믹스를 열면 YouTube 플레이어를 쓰며, 이는 Google 개인정보처리방침(https://policies.google.com/privacy)이 적용됩니다.
